Read Books to sharpen your mind and learn to think critically! (Or listen to books)!
Sharpen your mind! Read! A lot of wisdom can be learned from the old philosophers like: Hypatia, Pythagoras, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and many more! Or "political philosophers, like: Marx, Bakunin, Naomi Klein, Michael Moore or Emma Goldmann!
Even more "light reading": "humorous" like: Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchet, Neil Gaiman or critical of society, like: Robert A Heinlein, Isaac Asimov and many more!
All of these will probably make you THINK!
THINKING and questioning how our society works and why - questioning norms, inhibitions, preconceptions, gender roles and stereotypes!
AND MAKING YOUR OWN MIND UP! Observing, Analyzing and drawing your OWN conclusions! THIS IS EXCERCISE FOR YOUR BRAIN!
DO NOT blindly accept the opinions of others!
Realise that there are very few - if any? Absolute truths!
Litteracy is important for sharing and learning new ideas!
But even if you are gravely dyslexic? You can still "read" - audio books!
And you can learn! I also warmly recommend the Stand up from: George Carlin - he's a eye opener!
If you don't know where to start?
I recommend - Robert A. Heinlein - "Stranger in a Strange Land"!
After that: Sex at Dawn - the prehistoric origins of Human Sexuality! It is available as a Audio book as well - and that is how I read it first!
If you want to try and enlighten yourself politically? I have not YET read Naomi Klein's No Logo - but I've been told it's good!
AND! Despite being rather "far LEFT" - some might call me a "Anarcho Socialist"! Somewhere between Bakunin and Emma Goldmann perhaps? I have yet to read both!
Heck - I haven't even read MARX yet!
But I firmly believe that in order to reach:
"Justice, Truth and Egality"
- Which I firmly believe is a must for a "civilized society"! We must first redistribute resources!
"From each according to their ability, to each according to their needs"
But I'm digressing!
The basic message is: Learn to think critically! Read Books to sharpen YOUR mind!
(Or if you prefer - listen to them)!
