2005-04-22 03:00 De nya allemansmedierna på nätet blogg och podcasting,
där vem som helst kan föra ut sitt budskap i skrift respektive tal och musik, kompletteras av allemansvideo via nätet, kallad vlogg.

I dag finns bara ett par tusen vloggar i värden, men nya lättarbetade verktyg är
på väg. Förmodligen leder vloggandet till nya stridigheter om den intellektuella
upphovsrätten till det bild-och ljudmaterial som vloggarna kommer att använda.

Vloggandet är som bloggandet olikartat. Intressanta exempel är
rocketboom.com, fenomenet Dylan Verdi som började vlogga i elvaårsåldern,
Human Dog och Momentshowing.

Adding video to blogs is getting easier, but bigger problems lie ahead!

Can’t stand to hear another word about the wonders of blogging?
Well, brace yourself, because here comes Version 2.0: vlogging.
Yes, that’s vlogging as in Vladivostok, thus creating a neologism even more
awkward than blog. On its surface the vlog is simple: adding video to personal
Weblog publishing. For now, vlogging remains an embryonic phenomenon with
probably less than a few thousand regular practitioners worldwide. But it already
raises a raft of interesting issues ranging from intellectual property protection
to the future of text on the Web.

The current range of vlog content on the Web varies as widely — perhaps even
more widely — than its text counterpart. The oeuvre ranges from some very
slickly-produced material (the daily rocketboom.com starring an actress who
previously appeared on NBC’s The Restaurant) to a wide range of personal
idiosyncrasies: a vlogger eats a grapefruit; video of a 1999 Silicon Valley
pool party; a vlogger goes jogging; some guys in L.A. meet for coffee.

VideoLAN Client
VideoLAN Client (vlc) är en mediaspelare som fungerar på flera plattformar. Den kan spela DVD- och VCD-skivor, MPEG- och DivX-filer och kan även spela upp från ett satelitkort. Programmet finns till följande plattformar: Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, BeOS, BSD, Solaris, QNX, iPaq. Den klarar även av strömmande media över ett nätverk. Strömmen kan vara såväl MPEG 2 TS i UDP eller HTTP paket unicast eller multicast, och klarar både IPv4 och IPv6.

VideoLAN har skapats av en grupp studenter från Frankrike, École Centrale Paris, och utvecklas numera av utvecklare från hela världen.
