A Committee - protecting the public against politicians, police, public servants and even the secret police! For democracy's sake!

For a democracy to work - to be worthy of being called a democracy!

Then Those who have been given a commission of trust by being elected by the people to represent their interests: politicians, representatives, ombudsmen, the government and public servants!
Must be held responsible for breaking the given trust! And when the trust is clearly violated - they must be punished!

The work of these elected, and the public servants that are specifically employed by the taxpayers - to facilitate the work of the elected - their actions must be transparent, visible and easily available to the public!

Even the work of police, military, secret police and clandestine organisations - must be held accountable and face the consequences if they break laws or violate human rights! This can however not be as transparent! So these should be audited/examined continously by a committee - answering only to the people and working with the good of the citizens in mind - only!

A Citizens Protection Bureau! With enforcement capabilities and mandate to use armed force against those who previously have had monopoly on using armed force against the people!
To be able to protect the public - like peaceful unarmed protesters in a legal demonstration - from being shot, unlawfully detained or ridden down by police horses!

Think of Ådalen, Göteborg and Malmö!

I was a child - already when I was young! As I'm getting older - I'm having a happier childhood!

I've never had a happier childhood - than right now - when I'm 50!

I'm Bob Jacob, I'm now 51 and had this realisation when I was 49!

I said that to a group of people in various ages, but mainly younger than me - and they smiled - out of relief! Relieved to hear that life can get better, easier to handle!

A stand-up comedian said - "one of the benefits of becoming older - is that for every day, there's one less thing that you care about"…
I disagree, but can understand - I'd say that, as you get older, having been through hell and back a couple of times - your worries are less worrisome, your personal catastrophes, less catastrophic!

Having perspective and experience - after you've "come out alive at the other side" - then you can pick up "childish things" and complete your inner child - to have a happier childhood than you ever did before!

Have faith in yourself and have patience - after you have been through hell and back and come out alive and kicking at the other side! It usually - for most, gets so much better and you're more experienced and stronger than ever before!

When you're there - meet me in the ball pit and we'll watch some cartoons!

Live well, take care and be kind to yourself and eachother! Love and hugs! Robert "Robban/Bob" Jacob 💖

AI's, bots and Algorithms - a threat to justice, truth and egality!

Apple, Google, Microsoft, MugMag (Fjäskbuck), even law enforcement systems & many more - use algorithms to make decisions!
Broad generalisations, stereotypes and preconceptions - perpetuated by machines is a threat to us all!

We must all be aware that the algorithms are very blunt selection tools - even dumber than the flawed humans that wrote them!
In theory - I should be favoured by the AI's and algorithms, being perceived as all that society's stereotypes hold as the norm  - being a caucasian, northern European, middle aged, white male - perceived as CIS-man and economically stable - with a background in the political and judicial systems…

But we're all att risk!

No one is safe! Even a strongly biased system can flip over or a "learning" algorithm - can come to conclusions that is harmful!

Conditions of society, human rights, the legal system and even the multinational Corporations at the top of this post - by using these flawed tools - are at risk to be more harmful than helpful!

Here's an article from the Guardian!
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/sep/08/artificial-intelligence-beauty-contest-doesnt-like-black-people

A beauty contest was judged by AI and the robots didn't like dark skin

"When Microsoft released the “millennial”chatbot named Tay in March, it quickly began using racist language and promoting neo-Nazi views on Twitter. And after Facebook eliminated human editors who had curated “trending” news stories last month, the algorithm immediately promoted fake and vulgar stories on news feeds, including one article about a man masturbating with a chicken sandwich.

While the seemingly racist beauty pageant has prompted jokes and mockery, computer science experts and social justice advocates say that in other industries and arenas, the growing use of prejudiced AI systems is no laughing matter. In some cases, it can have devastating consequences for people of color."

"Civil liberty groups have recently raised concerns that computer-based law enforcement forecasting tools – which use data to predict where future crimes will occur – rely on flawed statistics and can exacerbate racially biased and harmful policing practices."

"A ProPublica investigation earlier this year found that software used to predict future criminals is biased against black people, which can lead to harsher sentencing.
“That’s truly a matter of somebody’s life is at stake,” said Sorelle Friedler, a professor of computer science at Haverford College."

"Prejudiced AI programs aren’t limited to the criminal justice system. One study determined that significantly fewer women than men were shown online ads for high-paying jobs. Last year, Google’s photo app was found to have labeled black people as gorillas."
